4/19 Japanese 1 A4

Lesson

  • 5 minutes talking in Japanese きょう、あさごはんをたべましたか。なにをたべましたか。
  • Reviewed jyouzu, heta, tokui and nigate
  • Learned how to compare things using particle ga
  • Exercises (Blue paper)
  • Students got into groups to discuss about their final project

Homework: 10 sentences in English on your final project topic. 4 of them will be translated to Japanese during class.

Lesson

  • Asked if everyone could finish the quiz and if they had any question about it.
  • Reviewed jyouzu, tokui, heta and nigate asking questions to each other
  • New grammar totemo, amari, zenzen, maa maa
  • Translate some sentences practicing new grammar
  • Everyone got to their computers researching about their final project and created the draft in English

Homework: Finish final project draft at home. Write at least 10 sentences in English about the topic you will present. Out of 10 sentences, we'll start translating 4 in class to Japanese.

  • Practiced those verbs asking and answering questions

Homework: Go to the following website and finish the quiz. Make sure you type your full name. You can only take it once. Review the oral test flashcards before taking the quiz. It's worth 20 points.

  • The students wrote sentences about what they did during spring break using the days of the week
  • Learned how to type in Japanese and typed the sentences about Spring break

Homework: Go to the following website and take the quiz. This is a review of the oral questions. I would recommend you go over your flashcards before taking the quiz. It's worth 20 points and it should only be taken once. Make sure you type your full name before taking the quiz. It says optional, but it's mandatory for this class.

  • In pairs the students created sentences about their Spring break typing on the computer and sent it by email to me
  • Reviewed previous grammar (jyouzu, tokui, heta and nigate)
  • Reviewed the particle "ga" as emphasis and as but
  • Corrected reading comprehension exercises 5-3
  • Talked about how to contrast and compare in Japanese using "ga"
  • Everyone wrote 3 sentences using particle ga
