Japan Bowl information

Our next Japan Bowl will be held at BYU on March 2 (Sat) around 1 pm (details will be announced later).

BYU is planning to have a Nihon Matsuri (Japanese Festival) in the evening, so after the competition, students can attend their festival if they want. Those than win the Utah Japan Bowl will participate in the National Japan Bowl in April in Washington DC. We are not sure how much they are helping to pay for the costs, so we recommend students to start saving in case you will have to compete in the Nationals (about $800 per person for 3 days). It's a lot of money, but last year the winning group of each regional Japan Bowl was sent to Japan for free, so it was a bonus. Every year is different, but we really hope that they will continue doing that.
